Contract, Part-Time

 

About the Role

We are looking for motivated science, engineering, or medically trained people — undergraduate or postgraduate students welcome — located in California's Bay Area with a desire to gain experience related to the intersection of health & bioaerosol science, building engineering, environmental sustainability, and customer service.

About You

You are an excellent communicator with extreme accountability and a knack for paying attention to detail, who’s looking for hands-on, contract-based experience at the earliest stage of a tech/biotech startup. You deliver high-quality work when you say you will, and are eager to try your hand at being responsible for the success of field work based projects.

 

Your availability is flexible and can accommodate working an average of 5-10 hours per week (or 40 hours per month), with occasional evening and weekend availability.

What You’ll Do

  • Travel to customer sites to collect metadata and conduct air safety test projects

  • Work with Poppy’s data science and field operations team to plan and execute air safety tests

  • Attend training sessions and conduct independent trials to ensure accuracy and guarantee success prior to deploying at a customer site

  • Learn and closely follow established protocols for data collection

  • Interact with customers and act as a liaison on behalf of Poppy Health

  • Collaborate in a team environment to provide the best Poppy experience

What You Need

  • Academic and/or professional background in science or engineering

  • Previous experience in customer service

  • Excellent time management skills, verbal communication skills and attention to detail

  • Know the importance of following protocols and making logical scientific judgments

  • Willingness to adapt and improvise as necessary

  • Comfortable sharing novel ideas and insights

Bonus Points For

  • Background in biosciences, or architecture and the built environment, or sustainability engineering

  • Valid drivers license & car (not required if Uber/Lyft is available in your area)

  • You like creating social content to educate people on important issues

​

Job Type: Part-time, Contract, Temporary
 

Salary: $20.00-$27.00 USD per hour
