Research & Development Project Manager​

About the Role
We are seeking a Research & Development Project Manager to lead the execution of a high-profile ARPA/DARPA type program — a nationally strategic initiative to modernize biosensing and building health infrastructure. This role is central to driving project success across hardware, software, and data science teams, while ensuring contract compliance, inter-agency coordination, and milestone delivery.

You will oversee detailed technical schedules, manage cross-functional collaboration, support in-person stakeholder meetings, and help structure complex datasets into actionable insights. This is an opportunity to work on a moonshot health project while contributing to a fast-growing company focused on impact.

What You’ll Do

Lead project execution across biosensing, diagnostics, HVAC integration, and data platforms

Maintain detailed work plans, schedules, deliverables trackers, and risk registers

Coordinate efforts across internal teams, partners, subcontractors, and government stakeholders; organize key in-person meetings

Interface directly with government program staff and IV&V teams to manage reports, milestone documentation, and compliance

Support data organization, transfers and light analysis of heterogeneous datasets from biosensors, HVAC systems, and software integrations

Prepare executive briefings and investor-facing updates to communicate technical progress and impact

What You Need

5+ years of project management experience in technical R&D, product development, or government-funded programs
-
Prior experience managing ARPA, DARPA or similar milestone-based government programs

Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary teams in complex, fast-paced environments

Strong data skills: ability to manipulate, organize, and perform basic analysis on heterogeneous datasets; use of Python, Advanced Excel, SQL/database familiarity, and applied statistics knowledge are all highly valued

Proficiency in collaboration and project management tools such as Google Workspace, Slack, (and sorry, Teams), Notion, Asana-like tools

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, life sciences, data science, or a related field

Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills

Experience in biodefense, public health preparedness, or pathogen surveillance project management and research

Familiarity with bioaerosol science, indoor air quality, HVAC systems, ASHRAE standards, or smart building technologies

Experience with Other Transaction Agreements (OTAs)

Experience working with tech startups, or multi-partner R&D consortia
